During our experience you’ll taste several different types of FORTIFIED WINES from Portugal, with a special focus on the PORT WINE. To those who are not aware of the procedures, first and foremost I’ll teach you how to taste wine. Then I’ll explain the winemaker’s notes, producing procedures, and typical specifications of each of the wines we are going to taste.
As such, we will begin with a MOSCATEL from Setúbal, which typically is aromatic and extremely “grapy”. We will then move to CARCAVELOS, which has complex and salty wines and we will finish this first part of the experience with a fresh wine from MADEIRA.
Right after this first insightful start, we will deep-dive into the amazing world of the premium PORT WINES. We will start by tasting two WHITE WINES, one dry – typically paired with starters – and a special single harvest – typically paired with deserts. We will continue with two RED WINES, a 10 years TAWNY, which is a blend of several harvests and perfect to combine with cheeses and sweets, and a single harvest one. We will finish this experience after tasting two different type of RUBY, one LBV and one CRUSTED, which is a very rare wine among Port producers.
